OVERVIEW

CMMS CPAs & Advisors PLLC, an ATLAS NAVIGATORS firm, is seeking a Senior Audit Manager to join our Amarillo team. This is a compelling opportunity to become part of a growing family of firms across multiple states. The Senior Audit Manager will work under the Partner and/or Director of that location/area.  The Senior Audit Manager will be responsible for managing the staff with workflow and projects to ensure efficiency and best business practices. The Senior Audit Manager supervises Managers, Seniors, and Staff.  Responsible for audit program approval, personnel scheduling, audit working papers review, financial statement disclosure footnote approval, day-to-day client relationships, determination of billings for engagements, and training and evaluation of staff.  Achievement of this level is critical to long-term success within a CPA firm. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the full lifecycle of audit engagements for clients, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc).
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, offering insights and advice on financial reporting, operational improvements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the highest standards of audit quality and compliance, staying up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices. 
  • Mentor and lead audit teams, fostering professional growth and maintaining a collaborative work environment that promotes excellence.
  • Proactively engage in business development efforts by identifying opportunities for new client relationships and grow existing client engagements
  • Oversee the financial performance of audit engagements, including budgeting, billing, and profitability analysis, while ensuring the efficient use of resources. 
  • Build strong relationships and interact regularly with clients, internal client partners, and up-and-coming talent, external industry groups, Centers of Influence, industry Market leaders in adjacent sectors, and Service Line Leaders - coordinating to align skills with market trends and drive strategic technical leadership hires. 
  • Establish sales and revenue goals, and actively manage a strategic business plan and opportunity pipeline that ensures these goals are met; actively analyze and monitor pricing strategies for opportunities. 
  • Perform higher-level reviews and sign off.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for technical questions and knowledge.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • An MBA and/or a CPA are highly desirable
  • Experience with a public accounting firm is a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including a computer, office equipment, telephone, etc. Tasks may require extended periods at a keyboard or workstation.
