Certified Medical Coder
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder to join our healthcare billing team. Working under the guidance of a Partner and senior members of the team, this role will support the firm's clients in the duties listed below and contribute to the overall success of the team. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team with opportunities for growth across a multi-state firm. This is an on-site position.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a variety of medical billing and coding responsibilities
- Use a variety of medical billing software, such as Athena, E-Clinical, CollaborateMD, MDlogic
- Will work with physicians on coding their office visits and surgical cases
- Regularly communicate with patients by phone and email
- Regularly use Microsoft programs Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Follow strict guidelines regarding file management and client confidentiality.
- Apply new policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to new ideas and approaches.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, vendors, and members of the public.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical billing and coding
- Fluent in medical terminology
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and extremely organized
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to set priorities and skillfully juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced office
- Able to work as part of a team with a service mentality
- Actively listen
- CPC Credential is required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficient with medical billing software
- Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Teams
- Physician credentialing experience is a plus but not required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$30.00 - 40.00 per hour. Compensation is based on several factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience and education, geographic location, and current market trends.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc. Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Required to occasionally lift, hold, or carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Individuals must perform the principal duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
